Wedding in India is not just about marriage between two people. The wedding and allied sectors such as engagement parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and wedding receptions have a significant market size in India.  It leads to mobilization of individual and family resources which have been accumulated for years very often. This makes wedding a wholesome industry in itself with respect to the Indian context.

Having market share of  more than $130 billion [1], the Indian wedding industry comes just after Chinese wedding industry, ranking number two globally [2]. With hosting around 8 to 10 million weddings annually, India tops the list globally in terms of number of weddings held annually.
